Another Quote from "Finding Destiny"

Here is another quote from my manuscript:

Finding Destiny

"Luana hoped one day, when she was an old woman, her manuscript would transform into a complete book and be published. She felt the insights would help enlighten those who wished to learn more about the unseen world of mystics and mediums. She had no title for the manuscript, only pages filled with explorations of spiritual challenges that the reader could easily identify. There were no words like quantum physics, or such elevated language as existentialism to cloud the real nuts and bolts surrounding journeys of reincarnation and extra sensory perception that was being addressed. Only laymen’s words would be included in her metaphysical literary concept. She imagined when the volume was complete, the information that poured from her consciousness would bring comfort to those who might be sitting rigid on the proverbial fence as to whether a soul really exists, or if humans can actually use their intuitive abilities to predict the future. Whatever her book offering provided its reader, Luana would be content knowing that she had taken the risk to reveal her spiritual beliefs to the world.
Luana closed her eyes to ruminate on the direction her manuscript would follow. As if magic, her subconscious mind fed the words to her conscious awareness as she typed:
Awake! Be the witness to your thoughts. These wise words were spoken by Gautama Buddha. They are similar to the anonymous words etched on a plaque hanging on my kitchen wall: To make your dreams come true…Wake Up! Both of these quotes command that as human beings, we must become aware of our spiritual selves--the larger Self within that is connected to a Higher Power or Divine Being. Many call this spiritual aspect of our consciousness, a soul. To define this quality notable only beyond words, many use terms like true Self, inner Self, the small voice within, or God-Self. Whatever name given to this unseen yet many times felt soul dimension, we accept the gift of enlightenment when we become aware of its connection. Once enlightened, or awaken to the knowledge that we are a spark emanating from the Oneness of Infinity, we can learn to create our dreams and our reality.
Luana continued writing late into the night to allow the words to flow from her consciousness onto the keyboard as her fingers typed unrelentingly for hours. After several dozen pages had been added to her manuscript, Luana took a deep breath and lowered her hands from the lettered keys. “Sometimes I feel as if I am channeling these words!” she whispered to herself. It was well past her regular bedtime, but there was an inner persistence edging her to continue writing. Once again, Luana posed her fingers over the magical computer keys and listened to the words as they hummed their song. It was a mixture of automatic writing and her conscious searching for truth that found its way onto her computer’s screen that night. A mixture of educational, experiential, and esoteric knowledge formed uncounted pages of spiritual wisdom for the manuscript that Luana, one day, would claim as her life‘s work."

Excerpt from "Finding Destiny"

Here is a small excerpt from Finding Destiny:

The young woman touched her belly as an unfamiliar sensation moved like a bubble floating to the top of a flute. She was aware of the intruder that was making its presence known, but would rather discount the movement to a touch of gas finding its way through her digestive track. After all, she did not ask to become a fetal-carrier like some animal in the woods. She did not ask to be mounted like a breeding mare with her private parts spread for the taking. The woman, barely so at eighteen, was unprepared for the harrowing experience of an unjust, unloving act that left her womb inhabited with a life she could not acknowledge.
Her mind was racing like a bullet train riding the rails to its next destination determined to stop only long enough to allow its occupants a hastened exit. What should she do? Where should she go to hide the cumbersome entanglement? She knew the final deed must be completed with closure, absent of drugs and little aftercare. It must be done quickly as to leave any establishment as if she were never a resident, but only leaving a piece of baggage by the door. Her childlike mind was firm; she would travel to a far away land realized only by monks or nuns. She would ask for entrance with tearful begging, unveiling her belly to secure the pact. After the task had been completed, she would smile in gratitude and be on her way.
For several months, a furry of internal questions unrelentingly haunted her days. Will there be remorse for her actions? Will she weaken her stance and change her plans? Will there be a moment when she might be tempted to touch the cheek of the interloper to submit the truth of her plight? Realizing there was no time for retreat, or to dally with the thoughts jetting through her mind, she chose to continue her subversion and travel the distance alone.
The Tele, firmly mounted on the wall to assure its safety from thieves, blared its alarm, “A Teen Runaway!” Her finger touched a button to silence the obtrusive bloke. She rolled over on her side just far enough to accomplish a position of comfort without the acknowledgement of her belly’s obstruction. The bland room had been her refuge for the last few months as she sequestered herself to allow the intruder its gestation. The corner deli provided her needs for nourishment, the Tele her entertainment. She was well aware of the time sequence involved; she had marked an “x” on the calendar tucked in her pocketbook. Her hibernation must end in two weeks; and then, she will  hitch to the manor discovered in a mixture of crazy panic and intellectual calm.

Announcing A New Title!

New Manuscript Just Completed

Finding Destiny is the title of my newest manuscript completed in of May 2015. This title does not yet have a publisher, but I will be searching for one to release it as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will post excerpts here to introduce you to the storyline and characters within the book.

Finding Destiny is my first fiction novel and I have thoroughly enjoyed writing it as it seemed to flow naturally through my conscious awareness. The story contains two main heroines; one an older woman living in the United States in current time, and the other a teenager beginning her long life's journey while living in England during the 1970s forward. These two intriguing women's lives mysteriously intertwine throughout the book.

Finding Destiny is a book within a book. It takes its reader on an inner adventure of experiencing and remembering pain, and celebrating life's triumphs. It is written with an abundant poetic prose to arouse the senses, and brings many spiritual insights to its reader's awareness. Here is a look at one of the characters in the book:

When life throws us a curve, is it best to hide in a delusion of retreat until the frayed ends of an unknown world are magically mended? We have all attempted this rouse. Usually, the refuge does not unwind the dramas that so cleverly worked their way into our lives. No, retreat is not a decision for brave women who meet each day armed with an inner mantra to squeeze every drop of existence and joie de vivre! from their being. Destiny is one of those young women who accepts Fate’s responsibility, properly carrying it upon her shoulders to climb over each obstruction placed on her path. She has learned to stare Fear in the eye, defying its stubborn stance to reach from deep within for enough self-love to snide its confrontation. Yes, Destiny is a rare young woman indeed.
